A Human Library is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. What a joy. What a surprise. I was expecting to do a reading in my hometown, but it was a surprised tribute to me and my poetry instead. Three dozen or so friends gathered at the Ware Center to tell me my life's path has been worthwhile. It was such a joy to hear some of my poems read by friends. I am humbled. I am grateful, particularly to Jeff Rath, Eliot White, Meg Day, Dana Kinsey, Barbara Buckman Strasko, Daina Savage, Annie Ginder, Patty Hanahoe-Dosch, and special thanks to Marci Nelligan who set everything in motion. I will continue to strive to live up to their words.
